🏛️ One of the Oldest Wineries in Tuscany
Contucci is not just a winery—it’s a piece of living history.
The Contucci family has lived and produced wine in Montepulciano since the 11th century.
Their wines were already famous in the 1700s.
The family home, Palazzo Contucci, overlooks the stunning Piazza Grande and was designed by the Renaissance architect Antonio da Sangallo the Elder.
Deep below the palazzo lie the historic cellars, where Vino Nobile ages quietly in massive oak barrels.

Contucci is a founding producer of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, one of Tuscany’s most noble red wines.
Key facts:
Made mainly from Prugnolo Gentile, a refined Sangiovese grape native to Montepulciano.
Aged in traditional Slavonian oak barrels for up to 36 months.
Grown on clay and limestone soils for balance and complexity.
