Le Pergole Torte: The Soul of Sangiovese from the Heart of Tuscany

Among Italy’s most captivating red wines, Le Pergole Torte shines as a pure and powerful expression of Sangiovese, Tuscany’s most iconic grape. Born in the hills of Radda in Chianti, this wine tells a story of passion, tradition, and bold choices.

A Visionary Beginning

In 1967, Sergio Manetti, a Tuscan entrepreneur, fell in love with wine and founded the Montevertine estate. With the help of legendary winemaker Giulio Gambelli, he created a wine that defied the rules—choosing to craft 100% Sangiovese at a time when blends were the standard.

When regulations allowed white grapes in Chianti Classico blends, Manetti walked away from the system, determined to make wine his own way. And so, in 1977, Le Pergole Torte was born.

What Makes It Special?

Made only in the best vintages, Le Pergole Torte is elegant, intense, and unforgettable. Expect aromas of cherry, herbs, and violets, with a silky texture and long finish. It’s aged in oak for depth and complexity—but it’s never heavy. This is Sangiovese in its purest, most refined form.

Each bottle features a distinctive hand-drawn label, making it as beautiful to look at as it is to drink.

Why You Should Try It

Whether you’re a wine expert or just starting your journey, Le Pergole Torte offers something rare: a wine that speaks of its land, its people, and a deep love for tradition. It’s not just a great Tuscan wine—it’s a piece of Italian history, in every sip.
